Frequently Asked Questions

Is EriPCo a professional association?

Not exactly. A professional association is defined as “a body of persons engaged in the same profession, formed usually to control entry into the profession, maintain standards, and represent the profession in discussions with other bodies”.

As opposed to ERIPA which is the Eritrean Professional Association that operates inside Eritrea, EriPCo is a professional organization aspiring to connect Eritreans who have a Pharmacy degree or who are working towards getting their Pharmacy degree around the globe, regardless of their current professional status.

How can I become a member of EriPCo? Why should I join EriPCo?

Any Pharmacist or Pharmacy student of Eritrean heritage is eligible to become a member of EriPCo, regardless of your current career path. You can become a member by completing a membership application and paying annual dues.

The benefits of being a member include:

  • Being part of an aspiring community and serving to create a vibrant organization
  • Professional development, networking, opportunities for collaboration and mutual growth
  • Mentorship program
  • Fellowship Program
  • Access to letter of attestation and supporting letter to National Boards of Pharmacy (USA) and credential evaluation agencies.

If you are an Eritrean Pharmacist needing an attestation letter, please contact us.

There have been many pharmacy groups before, and it seems that they get forgotten and another one is formed. What will be done differently now with this group?

As immigrants (a) who didn’t have resources to make an informed decision on what route to take when it came to our careers and education and (b) who were not able to get internships and employment because of lack of connections, we thought there should be a platform where Eritrean pharmacists can help each other, connect and collaborate. Hence, EriPCo was founded out of the dire need we had for such a platform. What makes us different is that we do believe in the organization so much that we are willing to commit full-time at some point.
